Dancing Rings
Desiring to share the glory of his Olympic achievement to the Filipino people, JOE built a monumental replica of the award-winning Dancing Rings sculpture at the Rizal Park under the commission of the National Parks Development Committee and Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. The work, which interprets the flight of the Olympic spirit, won Grand Prize for Sculpture at the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) Sport and Art Contest which was held in Lausanne Switzerland, during the celebration of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Besting 35 countries worldwide, it earned Philippines’ first “gold” from the Olympics.
