Inspired by the relevance of the Olympic Torch Relay tradition, JOE assembled Time to Shine, a mixed media work that interprets the lighting and carrying of the Olympic Flame to the site of the Olympic Games. Formed by 26 objects connoting all the sports hosted by the London Olympics, it resembles an Olympic Torch-bearer. It is also a symbol of the Filipino athlete who will have his “time to shine” in the future when he takes part in the relays. The work is a Finalist at the 4th IOC Sport and Art Contest during the 2012 London Olympics.
